What You'll Be Doing

• Interpret engineering drawings, mark materials, and prepare plate using cutting and grinding methods.
• Assemble ship structures, ensuring accurate fitting, fairing, and tack-welding of components.
• Fabricate various ship items, including seats, ladders, flooring, panels, and watertight doors.
• Form materials using machine tools like guillotines, croppers, and rolling equipment.

What You'll Need

• A recognised Modern Apprenticeship certificate or Trade Papers, along with relevant mechanical qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds) to be provided upon application.
• Demonstrable, up-to-date fabrication knowledge and hands-on experience in construction or manufacturing.
• Understanding and application of core manufacturing processes and tack welding to high safety and quality standards.
• Confidence and responsibility in operating oxy-fuel and/or plasma cutting equipment.
• Adherence to SHE principles and risk-assessment requirements in all working conditions.
• Experience working safely in confined spaces or at height, supported by relevant safety certifications.
