Job Description

Bungalow Hospitality Management LLC is a growing hospitality management company overseeing a portfolio of restaurant concepts in the New York and New Jersey markets. We are committed to building exceptional guest experiences through strong leadership, operational discipline, and a people-first workplace culture. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on
Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function across our restaurant operations.

This position is ideal for someone who understands the pace and complexity of the hospitality industry and can balance employee relations, compliance, recruiting, payroll coordination, and organizational development. Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, performance management, disciplinary actions, and separations. Partner with restaurant leadership to assess staffing needs and recruit qualified front-of-house, back-of-house, culinary, and management employees.

Maintain employee records, personnel files, employment agreements, acknowledgments, certifications, and required workplace documentation. Coordinate payroll-related information, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, deductions, benefits, and employee classifications. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, New York, New York City, and New Jersey employment laws and workplace requirements. Monitor compliance relating to minimum wage, overtime, spread-of-hours pay, tip credits, paid sick leave, wage notices, scheduling, meal periods, and recordkeeping.

Administer and update the employee handbook, workplace policies, job descriptions, disciplinary procedures, and standard HR forms. Investigate employee complaints and workplace concerns promptly, objectively, and confidentially. Guide managers through coaching, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and termination procedures. Coordinate workers’ compensation, disability, paid family leave, unemployment, and other employment-related claims.

Oversee employee benefits administration and serve as a point of contact between employees, management, payroll providers, insurance brokers, and benefits administrators. Coordinate with immigration counsel and management regarding employment documentation and compliance for sponsored employees, where applicable. Manage Form I-9 verification and support internal audits of employment eligibility records. Develop training programs covering workplace conduct, anti-harassment, safety, supervisory practices, and company policies.

Track HR metrics such as turnover, attendance, vacancies, recruiting timelines, and labor-related trends. Conduct periodic HR compliance audits across all managed locations. Support the opening and staffing of new restaurant locations. Promote a professional, respectful, inclusive, and accountable workplace culture.
