Utility Business Analyst

Phoenix, AZ – Hybrid

  • Improve operational efficiency through process optimization.
  • Support successful implementation of utility transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure projects meet business objectives, timelines, and quality expectations.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of Business Analyst experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting utility industry programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and functional specifications.
  • Experience in UAT planning and execution, Data analysis and reporting, Change management support, Stakeholder engagement
  • Expertise in process mapping tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience facilitating workshops with business and executive stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Any certifications like CBAP/CCBA/PMI-PBA will be an added advantage

 

Experience in one or more of the following utility domains is preferred:

  • Customer Information Systems (CIS)
  • Billing and Revenue Management
  • Meter-to-Cash Processes
  • Outage Management Systems (OMS)
  • Work and Asset Management
  • Distribution Operations
  • Transmission Operations
  • Workforce Management
  • Field Service Management
  • Smart Meter / AMI Programs
  • Grid Modernization Initiatives
  • Energy Management and Sustainability Programs
  • Regulatory and Compliance Reporting

 

Experience with utility platforms such as:

  • Oracle Utilities (CC&B, C2M, MDM)
  • Maximo
  • ESRI GIS
  • ServiceNow
  • Work and Asset Management solutions
  • Outage Management Systems (OMS)

 

Knowledge of:

  • NERC Compliance
  • FERC Regulatory Requirements
  • Public Utility Commission regulations
  • Utility rate structures and billing
