Looking for a Senior level Full Stack Software Engineer background. Should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of application architecture, design considerations, and effectively leveraging AI tools for development and problem-solving.
Note: Not looking for someone to just use AI to develop things. They will use AI coding agents to develop, but will have full responsibility on coding. Need hands-on coding and good communication.
A Full Stack Application Developer/Engineer but has experience using AI tools like Copilot/Codex (can prompt).
Can work with the Business to quickly prompt with the requirement(s), code and deploy into the environment (full lifecycle from development to deployment to production in a shorter period of time). Must have experience deploying in Terraform.
Must have recent React.js experience. Will be the go-to React.js person and will be helping with multiple business requirements. Should be able to quickly code in React.js and deploy to production.
AI tools – open to any, must just know how to prompt
Databases – experience with PostgreSQL (highly preferred), experience with MongoDB is a plus
AWS – using S3, ECS, Fargate; doing deployment, some networking (VPC, subnets)
Looking for at least 4 years AWS services experience as well as Terraform (be able to write the scripts, will be responsible for)
Priorities: #1 React, #2 .Net or Python (open to either language), #3 Postgres, #4 AWS
Job Description:
Role: Forward Deployed Engineer
Location: Houston, TX (onsite 3 days/week)
Duration: Open-ended Contract (potential to convert to FTE)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly hands-on Forward Deployed Engineer to support new application development initiatives with a primary focus on React.
This engineer will work closely with business stakeholders to quickly understand requirements, develop solutions, and deploy applications into production. The role will support multiple business requirements and requires someone comfortable owning development throughout the full lifecycle.
Terraform is an important component of this position, and the engineer should be capable of writing Terraform scripts and supporting application deployment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop modern applications with React as the primary front-end technology.
  • Work directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and rapidly translate them into working applications.
  • Develop back-end functionality using .NET/C# or Python.
  • Develop and maintain Terraform scripts for infrastructure and deployment.
  • Deploy and support applications within AWS.
  • Work with PostgreSQL and relational databases.
  • Utilize GitHub Copilot, Codex, or similar AI coding tools to accelerate development.
  • Independently review, troubleshoot, and take responsibility for AI-assisted code.
  • Own solutions across the development lifecycle, from business requirement through production deployment.
Required Experience
Priority #1 – React
  • Strong hands-on React development experience.
Priority #2 – Backend Development
  • Strong development experience with either .NET/C# or Python.
Priority #3 – Database
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and relational databases.
Priority #4 – AWS
  • 4+ years of AWS services experience.
  • Experience with AWS technologies including:
    • S3
    • ECS
    • Fargate
    • VPCs
    • Subnets
Additional Requirements
  • Hands-on Terraform experience with the ability to write scripts.
  • Experience using GitHub Copilot, Codex, or comparable AI coding tools.
  • Ability to effectively prompt AI coding agents while maintaining complete ownership of the underlying code.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and hands-on coding skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MongoDB experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple business groups or application requirements simultaneously.
  • Experience rapidly moving solutions from business requirements through production deployment.
