Job Description

Albert Bartlett, a leading name in the potato industry since 1948, is dedicated to delivering the highest quality fresh produce sourced from local farmers across the UK. With operations based in Airdrie, Scotland, and additional facilities in Boston, Westwick, and Jersey, we pride ourselves on innovation, quality, and sustainable practices.

We are currently recruiting for the position of Production Operator - Fresh - Backshift. In this role, you will be essential in the day-to-day operation of our fresh potato production line during the backshift. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will ensure our products maintain their fresh and premium standards.

The working hours for this backshift role are from approximately Monday- Thursday 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM, Sunday 9AM-5PM with a competitive hourly rate starting at £12.71 plus a £0.50 backshift allowance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production machinery to ensure the efficient processing of fresh potato products.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all safety, hygiene, and quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Conduct quality inspections of products to ensure freshness and compliance with company specifications.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of production equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Accurately record production data and promptly report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Collaborate effectively within the team to ensure smooth operations and meet production targets.
  • Engage in continuous learning and training to stay updated on best practices and safety procedures.
  • Prior experience in a production or manufacturing environment, ideally within the food sector.
  • High attention to detail to maintain product quality and safety standards.
  • Good communication skills to effectively work within a team.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude beneficial for equipment maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to work backshift hours and adapt to varying production demands.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while strictly adhering to health and safety protocols.
