Simon & Schuster Audio is seeking a Marketing & Publicity Assistant/Coordinator to join our enthusiastic and collaborative team. In this role, the ideal candidate will provide key departmental support as well as participate in the development and execution of title-specific marketing campaigns for a wide range of authors including our exciting line of original audiobooks. We’re looking for a proactive, highly organized candidate who is excited to join the fast-growing audiobook industry and ready to hit the ground running.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide primary support to a Marketing Manager, with additional support for a Senior Publicity Manager. Liaise with sales, editorial, digital and ad promo departments, work hand in hand with audio production and audio publicity. Provide title marketing support by creating compelling marketing assets including behind the scenes interviews, excerpts, copy and more for use in advertising and across Simon & Schuster, author, and account social media channels. Maintain accurate campaign and marketing data tracking, ensuring records are organized and up to date.
Conduct ongoing author research, tracking key metrics and sharing insights with the team. Create and distribute weekly sales and marketing materials for internal title discussions and meetings. Maintain a detailed record of frontlist assets trafficked between production and marketing teams ensuring materials are properly saved, organized, and accessible to the team. Support publicity campaigns through targeted reporter and outlet research, media-list development, drafting briefing documents and other publicity materials, and monitoring and tracking planned coverage.
Requirements
Previous marketing experience, preferably in the publishing space. Exceptional organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and adapt to shifting needs. Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A positive attitude and a team forward mentality. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in copywriting for social media platforms.
Proficiency in Word and Excel. Familiarity with video editing and/or Canva a big plus. Simon & Schuster US is an equal opportunity employer (EOE).
