POS Systems Engineer
Position Summary
A client of Apex Systems is seeking a POS Systems Engineer to support and enhance technology across a large-scale retail environment. This role will focus on POS, payment, fuel/forecourt, and store systems, along with troubleshooting, automation, deployments, and ongoing platform improvements.
Technology Priorities
Experience is preferred in the following order:

GK Retail POS, ACI ConnectUp, Allied Site Controllers

Windows, with future plans to utilize Linux/OpenSUSE

Verifone Engage M400/M425 and VHQ

Gilbarco Insite360

ACI TMS

Key Responsibilities

• Support, troubleshoot, and maintain POS and store technology platforms.
• Design, test, deploy, and improve technical solutions.
• Automate processes using PowerShell and Windows scripting.
• Utilize SQL for troubleshooting, querying, and system support.
• Support software deployments, upgrades, device rollouts, and system maintenance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and technology vendors to maintain a stable store environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of technical engineering or systems support experience.
• Experience supporting retail, POS, payment, or distributed store technology.
• Strong PowerShell, Windows, and troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of SQL and Windows scripting.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
