Job Description

Data Integration Engineer (Contract) .net  & AWS
Location: Dallas, TX (hybrid, [3] days a week onsite)

About the role
We are looking for Data Integration Engineers to design, build, and support scalable, fault-tolerant integrations across our enterprise application landscape. You'll connect ERP, CRM, order and event
management, and customer-facing systems with each other and with our data platform. You'll use event-driven architecture, enterprise integration patterns, and both real-time and batch data flows.
The work is built on Kafka, AWS messaging and compute (EventBridge, SQS, Lambda, ECS), Aurora PostgreSQL, and .NET or Java services.

You ll work with architects, application teams, data owners, and business stakeholders, and own your integrations from design through support. We use AI coding agents daily and expect you too as well.

What you ll do
 Design, build, and support integrations between applications, event streams, and databases. Build event-driven pipelines on AWS using Kafka, EventBridge, Lambda, SQS, and ECS.
 Write consumers, APIs, and services in .NET (C#) or Java. Model and load data in Aurora PostgreSQL. Tune queries and handle schema changes safely.
 Handle the hard parts of messaging: ordering, retries, idempotency, duplicates, dead-letter queues, and schema evolution. Validate data before and after cutovers by checking counts, payload fidelity, and behavior under load.
 Define infrastructure in Terraform and ship through CI/CD. Use AI coding agents to write, test, and review code, and check their output before it merges.
 Write short handoff notes so others can pick up your work.
What we  looking for
 5+ years building data integration or backend systems in production. Strong in .NET (C#) or Java. Working knowledge of the other is a plus.
 Hands-on Kafka: topics, partitions, consumer groups, offsets, and failure handling. Solid AWS experience across messaging, compute, and IAM.
 Strong SQL and experience with Aurora or PostgreSQL. Practical experience building with AI coding agents. Be ready to explain where the agents helped, where they failed, and how you caught it.
 Comfort with automated testing of pipelines and with reading unfamiliar code. Clear written communication.
Good to have
 Snowflake, including loading data into it or feeding downstream analytics.
 Terraform, Kubernetes/EKS, CloudWatch-based troubleshooting.
 Familiarity with Avro/Schema Registry or CDC tools such as Debezium.

Location requirement
This is a hybrid role in Dallas. You must live in the Dallas area or be willing to relocate there before the
start date.
