IT Sr Consultant 5 – Applied Software Architecture Solutions with Security Clearance

The Information Technology Senior Consultant Level 5 is a senior technical expert responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining complex software systems while providing advanced consulting support for government-led projects. This role applies specialized knowledge of modern software engineering, DevOps practices, and cloud native technologies to design solutions, evaluate system architecture, and ensure reliable performance across diverse and data intensive environments. Key Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems, including high performance analytics, advanced algorithms, large scale data processing, real time applications, and business information systems based on documented requirements.
• Review, test, and validate software components to ensure compliance with design specifications; document and communicate test outcomes.
• Apply software development methodologies appropriate to the operating environment and project requirements.
• Provide system design input, including hardware/software trade off analysis, reuse strategies, evaluation of COTS/GOTS products, and detailed requirements decomposition from system level to component level.
• Support Help Desk operations by managing and resolving technical issues through Jira.
• Deliver consulting expertise in advanced information technologies, offering automated solutions to complex processing and architectural challenges.
• Conduct specialized analyses and studies; prepare technical reports and deliver presentations to stakeholders.
• Manage project work as defined by government requirements and lead medium to large complex projects and major phases of enterprise initiatives.
• Provide highly specialized technical guidance, troubleshooting, and solutions to complex IT problems. Minimum Qualifications
• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (must already be held)
• High School Diploma/GED with 20 years of relevant experience
• Associate’s Degree with 15 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years of relevant experience Required Technical Skills
• Experience scripting with Java on Linux
• Strong background with Docker and Maven
• Proficiency with Git/GitLab and hands-on experience with CI/CD and GitOps principles
• Experience with Helm, Kubectl, and Kubernetes Preferred Skills
• Experience with Flux and Kustomize
• Experience with Kafka, Kyverno, and/or MinIO
