The Role

• Interpret engineering drawings, mark materials, and prepare plate using methods such as oxy-fuel cutting and hand grinding.
• Assemble ship structures, ensuring accurate fitting, fairing, and tack-welding of components.
• Fabricate ship items including seats, ladders, panels, hatches, and flooring systems.
• Operate machine tools for forming materials, including rolling, flanging, and cutting equipment.
• Apply core manufacturing processes and complete tack welding to safety and quality standards.

What You'll Need

• A Modern Apprenticeship certificate (Trade Papers) or equivalent (SVQ3, City & Guilds) is essential.
• Up-to-date fabrication knowledge and hands-on experience in construction or manufacturing.
• Confidence and responsibility in operating oxy-fuel and/or plasma cutting equipment.
• Thorough understanding and application of SHE principles and risk-assessment requirements.
• Experience working safely in confined spaces or at height, with relevant certifications.
• Ability to follow strict safety and quality standards.
