Job Description
GovCIO LLC seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer SME to secure mission-critical federal systems. You will design secure architectures across cloud and on-prem, lead vulnerability assessments and incident response, and guide compliance with NIST and FedRAMP. Partnering with agile development and infrastructure teams, you'll embed security into DevSecOps pipelines and engineer security tools for monitoring and threat detection. As a mission-driven SME, you'll mentor teammates, advise government stakeholders on risk, and help modernize federal IT to improve services for citizens nationwide in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network and cloud architectures for federal systems
- Lead security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability remediation activities
- Develop, document, and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures
- Implement monitoring, logging, and incident detection/response capabilities
- Advise stakeholders on risk, compliance (e.g., Fed
- RAMP, NIST), and security best practices
- Collaborate with agile development teams to embed security into SDLC and Dev

- Perform security tool engineering, integration, and tuning across enterprise environments
- Support ATO/authorization activities, security documentation, and audit responses
