Automation Tester with ISTQB - ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automation Tester with ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer certification to lead quality assurance and automation activities within a large-scale Pega transformation programme. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in test strategy, automation frameworks, regression testing, and quality governance, ensuring robust testing coverage across critical business journeys and release cycles.

Fully remote with occasional travel to UK sites. ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing automated testing solutions, establishing traceability across requirements and test outcomes, and ensuring high levels of release confidence through risk-based testing approaches.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Work Package 3 (WP3), owning overall test strategy, quality assurance, and automation delivery.

Develop and implement a risk-based test strategy focusing on critical business and candidate journeys.

Design, build, and maintain an automated regression testing suite integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.

Establish end-to-end traceability from user stories and acceptance criteria through to test execution and release evidence.

Define and monitor quality metrics, including defect leakage, regression effectiveness, and release readiness.

Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and product owners to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Support functional, integration, regression, and non-functional testing activities.

Produce formal release validation evidence to support governance and deployment approvals.

Facilitate knowledge transfer and handover of testing assets, frameworks, and automation suites to Serco teams.

Establish baseline metrics for test coverage, regression duration, and quality assurance performance.

Required Skills & Experience

12+ years of software testing and quality engineering experience.

7+ years of experience in Pega test automation.
