Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a Full-Stack Platform Engineer to build and maintain the NXTGEN inspection platform - the system that operators use to configure missions, review findings, and act on inspection data. This is a product-facing role that spans web frontend, backend APIs, and data ingestion from field systems.

What You Will Do
  • Build and maintain the operator-facing web platform: mission management, inspection history, defect reporting, and analytics dashboards
  • Design and implement backend APIs that serve real-time and historical inspection data to operators
  • Build data ingestion pipelines that receive, validate, and store inspection data from field devices
  • Design database schemas optimised for inspection data queries - asset trees, finding timelines, comparison views
  • Collaborate with robotics and computer vision teams to define the data contracts between field systems and the platform
  • Own reliability, performance, and observability of the platform in production
What We Are Looking For
  • 3+ years of full-stack web development in a production environment
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript with Node.js backend and React (or similar) frontend
  • Experience designing and optimising PostgreSQL schemas for complex relational data
  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for API and storage services
  • Understanding of WebSocket or real-time data patterns for live inspection feeds
  • Experience with REST API design and integration with third-party systems (EAM, CMMS, or similar)
Where You'll Work

Our head office is in Melbourne and we have a second office in Sydney. We are open to flexible and remote working arrangements anywhere in Australia for the right person, so where you are based should not stop you from applying.

You are welcome to work from either office if you would prefer to, and we will get you out to site from time to time so you can see the systems your work supports running in the field.
