Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior BlackLine Consultant with strong expertise in Smart Close setup and configuration to support a global organization. This role requires a highly experienced professional who can lead configuration efforts while also advising on best practices, governance, and scalable design in a BlackLine and S/4 Hana landscape. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across New Jersey, Switzerland, Mexico, and China.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end implementation and configuration of BlackLine Smart Close and related BlackLine modules.

Design and configure close process workflows, task management structures, dependencies, notifications, and approval processes.

Develop and optimize close calendars, templates, task assignments, and governance controls.

Establish best practices for close orchestration, monitoring, compliance, and continuous process improvement.

Drive standardization and automation initiatives within Record-to-Report (R2R) processes.

Collaborate with global stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones

Identify and implement improvements for system design, data integrity, and operational efficiency

Support issue resolution, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives

Develop and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and standards

Operate across full SDLC lifecycle (fit-gap, design, build, test, deploy, support)

Act as a senior SME to challenge design decisions and enforce best practices

Required Skills & Experience

Core SAP Expertise

7+ years of experience implementing and supporting BlackLine solutions.

3+ years of hands-on Smart Close configuration and implementation experience.

Deep understanding of financial close and accounting processes, including Record-to-Report (R2R).

Proven configuration experience in BlackLine within an S/4HANA landscape

Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and BlackLine best practices

Ability to provide both hands-on technical support and high-level advisory guidance

Experience working in global delivery models and distributed teams
