DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Performs routine (journey-level) data analysis and data research work. Under the direction of the Chief Information Security and Data Officer, this position assists with developing, maintaining, and optimizing the agency's data systems and reporting capabilities. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Employees at this level may rely on direction from senior data staff to solve problems that are not standard, routinely assist others in performing work of greater complexity, and participate in developing methods for mitigating data issues and deploying those methods to correct issues.
CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements
Required Skills/Experience
4 years - Required - Experience in data analysis, research, and report development.
4 years - Required - Experience working with database software programs.
4 years - Required - Experience creating queries and generating reports.
3 years - Required - Experience with analytics tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization platforms.
1 year - Required - Ability to follow established procedures related to data quality validation, report standards, and analytical workflows.
1 year - Required - Basic understanding of statistical measures and their relevance to routine operational analysis.
1 year - Required - Experience creating queries, running reports, and supporting routine data production.
1 year - Required - Ability to communicate effectively including translating complex technical information into non-technical clear concepts, both orally and in writing.
1 year - Required - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency personnel across the organization.
1 year - Required - Must be available to work weekends and/or after-hours with advanced notice.
1 year - Required - Ability to follow instructions, comply with all agency policies and procedures.
1 year - Required - Ability to comply with all applicable health and safety rules, regulations, and standards.
1 year - Required - May be utilized as part of the department's 24/7 on-call scheduled rotation.
Preferred Skills/Experience
2 years - Preferred - Experience supporting or designing local database/data collection systems.
2 years - Preferred - Exposure to data auditing or monitoring processes to ensure accurate inputs and outputs.
