Product Manager/Product Owner Customer Communications
Contract Length: 6 months, with potential conversion to FTE based on performance and business needs
Location: New York, NY
Work Setup: Hybrid 3 days in office during training; in-office as needed afterward
Schedule: MondayFriday, 9:00 AM5:00 PM EST, plus rotating after-hours coverage
We are seeking a Product Manager/Product Owner Customer Communications to support a complex customer communications program spanning planned, emergency, and transformational initiatives. This role combines Product Ownership, Project Management, and Business Analysis while coordinating across business stakeholders, technology teams, and external vendors.
Product Manager/Product Owner Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize product and program enhancement backlogs, requirements, deliverables, and follow-up activities.
• Support intake and triage of customer communication needs across multiple business organizations.
• Translate business needs into actionable requirements and coordinate development and implementation.
• Serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors.
• Support multi-channel communications across SMS, email, voice, web, mobile, and other customer-facing platforms.
• Coordinate communication planning, configuration, testing, and delivery, including during weather-related and emergency events.
• Participate in a rotating after-hours coverage schedule to support time-sensitive and emergency customer communications.
• Manage documentation, action items, status updates, sprint activities, and project materials.
• Identify opportunities to improve program governance, processes, intake, and customer experience.

Product Manager/Product Owner Qualifications

• Bachelors degree required.
• 3+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, Project Management, Business Analysis, or a related discipline.
• Ability to participate in rotating after-hours coverage as required.
• Strong experience with requirements gathering, backlog management, stakeholder engagement, and delivery coordination.
• Experience working in Agile environments and managing multiple concurrent priorities.
• Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and vendor-management skills.
• Technical aptitude to quickly understand platforms, systems, and processes; coding is not required.

Product Manager/Product Owner Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with customer communications, customer experience, digital products, or multi-channel platforms.
• Experience with Monday.com or similar Agile/project management tools.
• Utility, regulated-industry, compliance, or emergency communications experience is helpful but not required.
