Job Description

At Places for People, we hire People, not numbers! So, if you like the sound of one of our jobs, please apply - you could be just who we're looking for! Of course, experience and track record are important, but we're more interested in hiring someone that embodies our People Promises. That's someone that does the right thing, is enthusiastic and motivated to grow, believes in Community spirit, is respectful and enjoys their work. As the UK's leading Social Enterprise we're dedicated to creating inclusive and thriving Communities for both our Customers and Employees.

Over the last 30 years, Touchstone have identified different opportunities that have shaped our development. As part of the wider Places for People Group, we offer professional property management and create the best experience for our customers.

More about your role

As our Commercial Property Manager, you will manage a varied portfolio of around 50 retail spaces initially, alongside commercial, office and mixed-use properties. You will oversee the full property management lifecycle, including inspections, lease compliance, tenant applications, maintenance, rent collection, service charges, insurance and financial reporting. You will be the main point of contact for tenants and occupiers, building effective relationships while providing asset owners with advice that improves property performance and value.

You will monitor lease events, lead rent reviews and renewals where instructed, coordinate contractors and professional advisers, and ensure vacant units remain secure and ready for the market. You will also oversee budgets, arrears, expenditure, rent deposits and client account activity in line with relevant lease, regulatory and RICS Client Money Protection requirements

This role is based in London 2-3 days a week.

  • Experience managing property budgets, expenditure, arrears and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in property management systems and Microsoft Office, with evidence of producing clear recommendations and property reports.

More about you

You will bring sound commercial judgement, financial awareness and the ability to manage competing priorities across a varied property portfolio. You are confident interpreting leases, negotiating with stakeholders and working with tenants, landlords, solicitors, insurers, surveyors and contractors. Your organised and thorough approach will help you maintain accurate records, monitor critical dates and make evidence-based recommendations

Experience of institutional or investment property portfolios, ESG and sustainability initiatives, lease renewals, rent reviews or asset management projects would be beneficial. Familiarity with a property accounting system such as Qube would also be useful.
