Account Management

Job description

About you

You're commercially minded, you know how to build strong customer relationships and, more importantly, you know how to develop them.

You're not someone who simply looks after accounts and keeps customers happy. You want to understand what they're spending, where the opportunities are and what more you could be doing together.

You'll be comfortable having conversations around pricing, margins, account performance and growth, while building relationships that make customers want to keep working with you.

You'll also be used to working in a busy environment where things move quickly, deadlines matter and customers expect a high level of service.

Your experience

You'll have a strong background in account management, internal sales or commercial account development, ideally within a fast-paced B2B environment.

You'll have been responsible for growing existing accounts, carrying revenue targets and understanding the commercial performance of your customers.

We're looking for someone who can look beyond the day-to-day orders and identify where there's an opportunity to increase spend, introduce additional services or develop relationships with other decision-makers within an account.

Experience within print, branding or signage would be useful, but it isn't essential. We're equally interested in people from manufacturing, packaging, logistics, distribution or other demanding B2B environments.

What's important is that you understand commercial account growth and can demonstrate where you've made a difference.

What you'll be doing

You'll take commercial ownership of a portfolio of existing customer accounts, looking at how they're performing and where there's potential to develop them further.

That means getting into the numbers, understanding customer spend, reviewing margins and identifying opportunities that might currently be missed.

You'll work closely with customers to understand their wider requirements, build relationships with key decision-makers and develop plans to increase the value of those accounts.

You'll also work alongside the wider business to make sure opportunities are realistic, commercially sensible and delivered properly.

You'll carry a commercial target, but this isn't a new business role. Your focus will be on getting more from existing relationships and building accounts for the long term.

There are no direct reports. This is a hands-on position where you'll personally take responsibility for account development and growth.

About the business

You'll be joining an established business operating across large-format print, branding, graphics and the delivery of major projects for customers across different sectors.

It's a busy, 24/7 operation where customers have high expectations and projects often work to demanding deadlines.

They're looking to take a more commercially focused approach to their existing customer relationships, making sure accounts are being properly developed rather than simply serviced.

The role is based at their St Neots operation, with the expectation that you'll be office-based. There may be some flexibility for the right person.

Next steps

If you're already developing commercial accounts, understand how to grow customer revenue and enjoy working somewhere that moves at pace, we'd be interested in having a conversation.

You don't need to come from print, and you don't need to be actively looking. If the role sounds relevant, let's have a chat.
