Web/OL Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, California (Remote)

Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate Front-End Engineer for an immediate contract opportunity. This role is for a coder who enjoys building products with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. The ideal candidate has an eye for design and user experience, cares about the customer experience, and is focused on shipping new products and features. This position is 100% remote.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build reusable React components with modular CSS, manage data on the client with Redux, use react-query, and GraphQL.
  • Measure and resolve performance bottlenecks, using tools like Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, and WebPagetest.
  • Refactor or improve existing JavaScript code.
  • Work closely with product, design, and UX teams to create intuitive experiences.
  • Help establish tools, processes, and documentation to improve code quality.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in solving programming and design problems.
  • Review code written by other team members.
  • Ship features to a large user base with autonomy and ownership.
  • Contribute to a Node-based developer platform.
  • Share knowledge with the team through one-on-one sessions or group talks.
Required Qualifications

Education: BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.

Experience: Qualified Full Stack Engineer with a strong emphasis on Front End Experience. Proven experience with React JS, Node.js, and JavaScript is required. Experience with HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, Responsive Design, and general Web 2.0 techniques is also necessary.

Technical Skills: The required technologies for this role include React, GraphQL, JavaScript, and Node.js. Experience in creating and/or consuming RESTful web services, along with expertise in unit testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD), is required. Experience with XML and XSLT technology is also needed.

Communication: The role requires the ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
