Job Description
- Hands on NetApp experience a MUST
- Hands-on engineering experience with NetApp and other storage technologies and concepts (Storage Area Network - SAN & Network Attached Storage - NAS) • Must have knowledge and understanding of protocols such as S3, CIFS, NFS, iSCI, and Fiber Channel Block Storage (SAN)
- Experience with capacity planning and sizing storage and backup environments (to include Veritas NetBackup, Cohesity, Rubrik, & CommVault
- Experience in performance tuning and optimizing storage and backup environments
- Experience with data center migrations and storage replication technologies
- Senior-level experience with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale systems, preferably across multiple hardware platforms and data centers
- Strong understanding of high availability concepts with practical experience and implementation of key components in storage environments
- Strong understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, performance concepts (I/O, paging, swapping, system calls), iSCSI, Fiber Channel, Ethernet
- Strong understanding of essential TCP/IP concepts: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, etc..
- Experience connecting storage arrays to Hypervisor Technologies (NUTANIX, VMWARE VCF, OpenStack). • Understanding of security best practices and federal hardening requirements (FISMA, STIG, etc.)
- CompTIA Security+ or similar certification for IAT Level II DoD 8570 compliance
- Proficient written and oral communication skills
- Strong collaborative attitude and ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to take direction
