OT/Safety Technology Project Manager Contract with state government

Your New CompanyJoin a large Queensland Government organisation delivering critical safety and technology initiatives that support operational services across the state. Working within the Engineering and Technology branch, you'll play a key role in modernising field-based technology assets and ensuring business-led projects are delivered effectively through a combination of internal stakeholder collaboration and external supplier engagement. This long-term contract offers the opportunity to lead projects that have a direct impact on operational safety, technology capability and service outcomes.Your New RoleAs Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of technology and asset-related projects, working closely with business stakeholders, suppliers, procurement, facilities and operational teams.Key projects include the deployment of vehicle monitoring solutions, upgrades to in-vehicle technologies, Toughbook refresh and rollout activities, mobile road-based technology platforms, and other technology initiatives as required.You will manage project scope, schedule, budget, governance, risks and dependencies while ensuring successful delivery and transition into business-as-usual operations. The role will involve coordinating multiple suppliers and internal teams, overseeing procurement and contract activities, driving stakeholder engagement, providing governance and financial reporting, and ensuring all deliverables meet agreed quality and operational requirements.This is a hands-on delivery role requiring strong project leadership, stakeholder management and the ability to navigate complex government environments to achieve business outcomes.What You'll Need to SucceedTo be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Proven experience delivering ICT infrastructure, technology deployment, systems rollout or field technology projects.
• Strong end-to-end project management capability across planning, delivery, governance, financial management, risk and reporting.
• Experience managing third-party suppliers, vendors and consulting partners.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience working within large, complex or government environments.
• Demonstrated success delivering projects involving hardware, devices, operational technologies, asset upgrades or technology refresh programs.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively navigate delivery challenges and competing priorities.
• Project Management certification (Prince2, PMP, PMBOK or equivalent) is highly desirable.

While direct operational technology (OT) experience is beneficial, candidates with transferable experience delivering ICT, infrastructure, device deployment, systems integration or technology rollout projects will also be considered.What You'll Get in Return
