About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer with strong Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory expertise to join a high performing team supporting a large Defence capability environment.

This role is broader than traditional Exchange administration and will suit someone with experience across infrastructure engineering, systems integration, solution design and technical assurance. You'll work across a diverse application landscape, providing technical leadership and engineering support to ensure systems remain secure, stable and fit for purpose.

Role Responsibilities

• Assess application architectures, security controls and integration requirements.
• Lead the design and development of system and application lifecycle requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend software solutions to meet business and technical needs.
• Coordinate the design and integration of infrastructure and application services.
• Investigate and resolve system and application support issues.
• Work with vendors and stakeholders to assess products and support implementation activities.
• Translate business and technical requirements into practical technology solutions.
• Develop engineering documentation including High Level Designs, Build Guides, System Configuration Documents and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Provide technical assurance and engineering advice across projects and operational activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure and application services.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 8 years' experience in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, application integration or system design.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Exchange and enterprise messaging environments.
• Demonstrated experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, PKI and related Microsoft technologies.
• Experience working within large enterprise, Federal Government or Defence environments.
• Proven ability to produce technical designs, documentation and engineering artefacts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience assessing technical solutions and providing engineering recommendations.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline is desirable.
• Previous experience providing technical leadership across complex ICT environments is highly regarded.
