Senior AI Automation Engineer

Work Arrangement: Hybrid minimum 3 days onsite
Locations: Plano, TX; Jersey City, NJ; Charlotte, NC; Chandler, AZ

Role Overview

The Senior AI Automation Engineer will drive AI-enabled modernization of mainframe z/VM and Linux vulnerability patching.

The primary objective is to develop agent-based automation that accelerates vulnerability remediation, improves operational efficiency, and reduces security risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of AI-driven automation frameworks for z/VM and Linux patching.
  • Build and deploy agent-based workflows to orchestrate vulnerability remediation at scale.
  • Integrate AI agents with mainframe systems, APIs, and security tooling.
  • Partner with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to prioritize and execute patching initiatives.
  • Ensure automation solutions are reliable, scalable, and operationally ready.
  • Develop enterprise-grade automation using Python and related technologies.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 10+ years of mainframe infrastructure engineering experience.
  • Strong experience with z/VM and Linux installation and testing.
  • Hands-on experience developing AI/agent-based automation frameworks and agents.

Technical Skills

  • Strong Python programming skills in enterprise environments.
  • Experience developing and integrating with z/VM APIs.
  • Experience developing and integrating with Linux APIs.
  • Understanding of enterprise infrastructure and vulnerability remediation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with agent-based or autonomous system architectures.
  • Experience with mainframe tooling supporting end-to-end vulnerability patching.
  • Exposure to AIOps or applying AI to mainframe infrastructure operations.

Work Environment

The position is hybrid and requires a minimum of three days per week onsite at one of the approved locations:
