Our team consists of entrepreneurs, technologists, and scientists who have come from backgrounds such as Google, MIT, and other leading companies and academic institutions. Together, we are building a tech platform that empowers organizations to tackle the climate crisis. Our powerful carbon calculation engine helps software providers embed emission metrics into their solutions to help their customers accurately calculate and continuously monitor their carbon footprint and drive better decisions.
Our platform is used by tens of thousands of sustainability leaders worldwide, and we are proud to be backed by renowned international VCs and investors in the climate-tech and software sector. We are also a certified B Corp, highlighting our commitment to balancing purpose and profit. As a remote-first company, our team is spread out across Berlin and other parts of Europe, with a strong focus on collaboration and innovation.
This is an exciting time to join Climatiq. Be part of a real, technology-driven endeavor from the beginning. Work with an amazing team and help build something meaningful together with our community.
We are looking for an ambitious Sales Team Lead to join our team in Berlin.
In this new role, you will manage, develop and grow a Sales team to enable Climatiq to continue to grow our customer base and expand into new segments. You will be responsible for architecting and implementing winning sales strategies and playbooks for all of our products. You are a strategic thinker who understands the dynamics of our customers, how they use our products and the best ways to reach and work with them. Your passion for sustainability and technology will be crucial, as you’ll be dealing with sustainability leaders and product owners in a competitive environment.
Responsibilities:
Own the overall pipeline and target for sold deals across all of our products
Own the sales strategy and tactics as well as the operational deal pipeline, CRM hygiene, call reviews and similar. Develop and manage a sales playbook to drive ambitious growth.
Coaching & Enablement: Spend significant time coaching and developing our AEs and BDRs. Run weekly call reviews, pipeline inspections, and roleplay sessions to elevate a smart but self-taught team.
Develop a deep understanding of our products and their use cases to help the team win deals. This covers both more technical API-based products and our SaaS solutions.
Use your prior sales experience to partner with the founders to strategise, negotiate, and close our largest, most complex enterprise and strategic deals.
Analyse sales data for insights and improvements, prepare forecasts and KPI reports and ensure we have the right tooling in place.
Qualifications:
Proven track record of closing deals and driving revenue growth in an enterprise SaaS, data or infrastructure startup or scaleup environment
4+ years in full-cycle inbound and/or outbound sales, ideally across both BDR/SDR and AE roles.
Extensive knowledge of sales principles and practices, both at the strategic and tactical level
Experience in sales team leadership roles, mentorship or in managing AEs and BDRs.
Results driven: A “closer”, with a track record of exceeding quota
Demonstrated understanding of core business priorities and KPIs, with the ability to think creatively and with a solution-oriented mindset
Can navigate both product-led/technical sales and traditional enterprise sales.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally (e.g. Product, Marketing, and Customer Success)
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data to back up assumptions
Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a high level of ambiguity
Nice to have:
Initial experience in sourcing deals (BDR experience).
Sustainability knowledge, particularly in carbon accounting
