Position Summary: Cherokee Preting LLC is seeking a mission-focused Cybersecurity Operations Specialist III to support and contribute to our government customer's success in Springfield, VA.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities: Includes the following: • Under broad direction, operates and manages all aspects of Information Systems, data availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. • Implements and monitors security measures for communication systems, networks, and provide advice that systems and personnel adhere to established security standards and Governmental requirements for security on these systems. • Develops and executes security policies, plans, and procedures; designs and implements data network security measures; operates Network Intrusion Detection and Forensics; conducts performance analysis of Information Systems security incidents; develops Continuity of Operation (COOP)/Disaster Recovery (DR) plans and supports certification of Information Systems and Networks. • Supervises operation of Electronic Key Management System, other information security duties, and Public Key Infrastructure. • Operates Host Based Security System (HBSS), firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, other point of presence security tools, Virtual Private Networks, and related security operations. • Performs other job-related duties as assigned • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory/management authority

Basic Qualifications

• Must meet one of the following:
• High School Diploma and minimum of ten (10) years of related experience • Associates Degree and minimum of eight (8) years of related experience • Bachelor's Degree and minimum of six (6) years of related experience • Master's Degree and minimum of four (4) years of experience • Ability to develop new concepts and processes. • Ability to analyze root causes and resolve issues. • Ability to support junior level technicians and specialists in their activities. • Ability to perform all tasks of lower level technicians or specialists. • Ability to work individually, actively participate on integrated teams, and lead a task, project or team. • Must be a US Citizen. • This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance. • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; may occasionally require standing or moving about the office for extended periods. • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Work Environment: Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled environment.
