System Administrator with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator to support enterprise IT infrastructure, systems maintenance, and technical operations for a mission-critical federal environment in Lorton, VA . The Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining secure Windows and network environments, managing user accounts and system access, performing system updates, and troubleshooting technical issues across classified and unclassified systems. This position is fully onsite in Lorton, VA, requires an active TS/SCI clearance, and operates on a swing shift from 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM ET! Responsibilities of the Systems Administrator:

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise servers, workstations, and network-connected systems
• Manage Active Directory user accounts, permissions, group memberships, and access provisioning
• Perform system patching, software updates, and vulnerability remediation to maintain security compliance
• Support implementation and enforcement of DISA STIGs and DoD cybersecurity requirements
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and system performance issues
• Support Windows Server environments, system configurations, and routine maintenance activities
• Monitor system health, investigate outages, and escalate complex technical issues when necessary
• Assist with network administration activities, including switch configurations, VLANs, and connectivity troubleshooting
• Manage technical support requests, incident tickets, and service requests through IT service management platforms
• Maintain accurate system documentation, asset inventories, configuration records, and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to ensure secure and reliable IT operations
• Support system upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and ongoing operational maintenance Qualifications for the Systems Administrator:
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Availability to work onsite in Lorton, VA, from 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM ET (Swing Shift)
• Experience supporting IT systems, network infrastructure, or enterprise technical operations
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory administration, account provisioning, and access management
• Experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems, servers, and enterprise IT environments
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and network connectivity
• Experience performing system maintenance, patching, and technical troubleshooting
• Familiarity with DoD security requirements, STIG compliance, and secure system configurations
• Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or similar platforms
• Strong troubleshooting, technical documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or other federal government IT environments
• CompTIA Security+, CySA+, Server+, or similar technical certifications
• Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud infrastructure
• Familiarity with AWS, Linux, and enterprise server administration
• Experience supporting classified and unclassified network environments
• Knowledge of network switching, VLAN configurations, and basic network security practices
• Experience with system monitoring, vulnerability management, and IT infrastructure documentation Compensation for the Systems Administrator includes:
• Salary: $100,000 - $120,000
