This is a senior technical position focused on Azure infrastructure, networking, automation, security and resilience, with the opportunity to influence engineering standards and help move infrastructure delivery towards a more automated, code-defined model.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a senior engineering lead across the Microsoft Azure platform, helping define technical standards and engineering best practice.
• Design and improve Azure infrastructure, including Landing Zones, networking, segmentation, Firewalling and connectivity.
• Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code and automation, using technologies such as Terraform, Bicep and PowerShell.
• Design and test backup, disaster recovery and platform resilience across critical infrastructure.
• Support and improve Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365, including PIM, Conditional Access and B2B collaboration.
• Lead infrastructure security, vulnerability and patch management, working with the security team to implement secure-by-design standards.
• Work with managed-service providers, architecture and security teams to ensure infrastructure is delivered to the required technical standards.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and provide technical guidance to other engineers.

Key Requirements

• Strong experience engineering and operating Microsoft Azure infrastructure at scale.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Landing Zones, networking and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform or Bicep, alongside PowerShell and automation.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365, including PIM and Conditional Access.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery and infrastructure resilience.
• Good understanding of cloud security and secure-by-design principles.
• Experience working with third-party suppliers or managed-service providers.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Desirable Certifications

Relevant Microsoft certifications would be advantageous, including:

• AZ-305 - Azure Solutions Architect
• AZ-104 - Azure Administrator
• AZ-500 - Azure Security
• AZ-700 - Azure Network Engineer
• AZ-800/AZ-801 - Windows Server Hybrid
