Production Support Engineer (Splunk & Oracle PL/SQL)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Production Support Engineer with strong expertise in Splunk Enterprise and Oracle SQL/PLSQL to support mission-critical enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for application monitoring, incident management, root cause analysis, database troubleshooting, and continuous service improvement in a 24x7 production environment.

Primary Skill: Splunk Enterprise

• Develop and maintain Splunk dashboards, reports, and alerts.
• Create and optimize SPL (Search Processing Language) queries.
• Onboard, configure, and manage application log sources.
• Monitor application health and proactively identify issues.
• Perform log analysis, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
• Drive observability and operational excellence through effective monitoring.

Secondary Skill: Oracle SQL / PLSQL

• Write and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and cursors.
• Troubleshoot database-related production issues.
• Support batch processes and backend application functionality.
• Analyze and optimize SQL execution plans and database performance.
• Ensure data integrity and system reliability.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Splunk administration and monitoring.
• Expertise in Oracle SQL and PLSQL development.
• Experience with production support, incident management, and problem management.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and service monitoring practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced 24x7 production support environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Unix Shell Scripting and Python automation.
• Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Database performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace or AppDynamics.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD processes.
• Exposure to ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and ServiceNow.
• Automation and operational process improvement experience.
