Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist
Position Summary
Responsible for supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supply base management to achieve cost, quality, delivery, and capacity objectives. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to support new product launches, product line extensions, and ongoing supply chain performance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Source components and materials required to support new product introductions and product line expansions in partnership with the Sourcing Team.
Lead negotiations and execute supplier agreements, including NDAs, Statements of Work (SOW), Letters of Intent (LOI), and other contractual documents.
Participate actively in project team meetings, providing clear, accurate, and timely updates to stakeholders and leadership.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies that leverage preferred suppliers, common components, and platform standardization opportunities.
Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and other internal stakeholders to define commodity requirements, identify early supplier involvement opportunities, ensure supplier qualification, and meet project timelines and quality standards.
Conduct supplier evaluations, selection processes, and commercial negotiations.
Support continuity of supply by ensuring suppliers have adequate production capacity and can meet business demand forecasts.
Establish target costs and work collaboratively with internal teams and suppliers to achieve cost-reduction objectives.
Maintain sourcing activity records and ensure procurement systems are accurately updated to support product builds and operational requirements.
Monitor supplier performance against key metrics, including cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, project management, consulting, purchasing, or business analysis.
Proven experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing supplier relationships.
Demonstrated ability to assess, qualify, and select suppliers.
Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Proven ability to coordinate initiatives, facilitate discussions, influence stakeholders, and resolve conflicts effectively.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
