job summary:

Join a growing IT organization as an IT Field Support Technician III, where you will serve as the primary technology contact for a regional network of field locations. This hands-on role is ideal for an experienced desktop support professional who enjoys solving technical challenges, building strong customer relationships, and working independently while supporting enterprise infrastructure across multiple sites.


You will provide advanced desktop and laptop support, troubleshoot Windows environments, deploy hardware and software, support mobile devices and printers, coordinate technology rollouts, and partner with infrastructure teams to deliver reliable IT services. This position offers a mix of technical troubleshooting, project coordination, and customer-facing support in a dynamic enterprise environment.


This is a full-time onsite contract opportunity based in Columbus, Indiana, supporting a multi-state territory throughout Indiana, southern Illinois, western Ohio, and northern Kentucky. Frequent regional travel is required, with mileage reimbursement provided. Candidates with strong enterprise desktop support experience, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work independently are encouraged to apply. responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related issues within an assigned region.
  • Provide advanced Level II desktop support for Windows desktops, laptops, peripherals, and business applications.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows 11 operating systems and standard business software.
  • Support mobile devices, including iOS and Android platforms.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop printers and multifunction devices.
  • Respond to support requests via phone, email, and ticketing system while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Manage, prioritize, and resolve multiple support requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Coordinate infrastructure projects, hardware refreshes, software deployments, and technology rollouts.
  • Maintain accurate hardware inventory and asset documentation.
  • Create and update technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
  • Provide end-user training on hardware, software, and technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security, and application support teams.
  • Maintain detailed service records and status updates within the IT service management platform.
  • Participate in after-hours support when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.




qualifications:

Qualifications:


High school diploma or GED required.


Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related technology field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.


Minimum of 2 years of hands-on desktop support experience, preferably supporting multiple remote locations.


Experience supporting:


Microsoft Windows 11


Desktop and laptop hardware


LAN, WAN, wireless networking, and web-based technologies


Mobile devices (iOS and Android)


HP LaserJet and Konica Minolta printers


Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, security, and enterprise applications.


Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.


Outstanding customer service and communication abilities.


Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


Strong documentation and time management skills.


Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States.


Preferred Qualifications:


Oil & Gas industry experience.


Experience using BMC Remedy or other IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms.


Professional certifications such as:


CompTIA A+


CompTIA Network+


Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)


Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST)


HDI Desktop Support Technician or equivalent
