DevOps Engineer (Azure Cloud & Kubernetes)
Location: Alpharetta, GA
Work Model: Hybrid

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure supporting critical enterprise applications.
This role requires hands-on experience managing Azure environments, Kubernetes clusters, deployment automation, monitoring platforms, and operational processes. The candidate will work closely with development, QA, security, and architecture teams to build and maintain reliable cloud-native solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Azure Cloud Administration

Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure.
Administer Azure subscriptions, resource groups, virtual networks, storage accounts, key vaults, and managed services.
Implement cloud governance, security policies, access controls, and cost optimization practices.
Ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery readiness of Azure environments.

Kubernetes & Container Platform Management

Deploy, configure, and maintain Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters.
Manage Kubernetes workloads, namespaces, ingress controllers, networking, and security policies.
Monitor cluster health, optimize resource utilization, and implement auto-scaling strategies.
Troubleshoot containerized applications and platform-related issues.

CI/CD & Automation

Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
Automate application deployment, infrastructure provisioning, and operational processes.
Develop reusable deployment templates and infrastructure automation frameworks.
Support release management and deployment activities across multiple environments.

Infrastructure as Code

Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform templates.
Implement version-controlled infrastructure deployments and environment consistency.
Automate provisioning and configuration of cloud resources.

Monitoring & Operational Support

Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
Utilize Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Perform root cause analysis and resolution of infrastructure and deployment issues.
Participate in production support and incident management activities.

Security & Compliance

Implement security best practices across Azure and Kubernetes environments.
Manage secrets, certificates, RBAC, and identity management solutions.
Support vulnerability remediation and compliance initiatives.
Partner with security teams to improve platform security posture.

Collaboration

Work closely with Development, QA, Architecture, and Security teams.
Support DevOps culture and cloud adoption initiatives.
Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks.
Mentor team members on DevOps, Azure, and Kubernetes best practices.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
Experience deploying and administering Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture and container orchestration.
Experience with Docker containerization technologies.
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, or ARM templates.
Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar technologies.
Experience administering Linux-based environments.
Knowledge of networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, firewalls, VPNs, and ingress management.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience supporting production environments and critical business applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400).
Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD).
Experience with Helm, ArgoCD, or GitOps deployment models.
Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar observability platforms.
Familiarity with security scanning and DevSecOps practices.
Experience supporting Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Node.js, or microservices-based applications.
Experience with enterprise-scale cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
Telecommunications industry experience is a plus.
