Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SAP Functional Transportation Management (TM) Consultant to design, configure, and implement advanced supply chain execution solutions within the SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain environment. The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise in SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM), including transportation planning, freight order management, carrier selection, route optimization, freight settlement, and transportation charge management.

This is a long-term, fully remote contract opportunity for a consultant who can translate complex global transportation and logistics requirements into scalable, efficient SAP solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) solutions within SAP S/4HANA.

• Gather business requirements and translate complex global transportation processes into functional specifications and SAP workflows.

• Configure end-to-end transportation processes, including freight unit building, transportation planning, freight order management, and execution.

• Implement carrier selection, transportation tendering, route optimization, and transportation planning strategies.

• Configure freight agreements, rate determination, charge calculation, and freight settlement processes.

• Support integration between SAP TM and other SAP modules, including SAP SD, MM, EWM, and Finance.

• Work with business stakeholders to optimize transportation planning, logistics execution, and freight cost management.

• Prepare functional specifications for enhancements, reports, interfaces, forms, and workflows.

• Collaborate with technical teams on SAP enhancements, interfaces, and custom development requirements.

• Lead or support functional testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and defect resolution.

• Support data migration, configuration documentation, deployment activities, and post-go-live stabilization.

• Identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency, reduce freight costs, and enhance supply chain visibility.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience as an SAP Functional Transportation Management (TM) Consultant.

• Proven experience with SAP TM in an SAP S/4HANA environment.

• In-depth understanding of freight order management, freight unit building, transportation planning, and transportation execution.

• Experience with carrier selection, transportation tendering, route optimization, and logistics planning.

• Strong knowledge of freight charge calculation, rate management, freight agreements, and settlement processes.

• Experience with SAP TM integration with SAP SD, MM, EWM, and Finance.

• Ability to conduct requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, functional configuration, and solution design.

• Experience preparing functional specifications, test scripts, configuration documents, and process flows.

• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment and collaborate with globally distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain and end-to-end transportation execution implementations.

• Experience with global transportation networks, multi-modal logistics, and complex freight operations.

• Knowledge of SAP Fiori applications and relevant SAP integration technologies.

• Experience with full-cycle SAP implementations, rollouts, upgrades, or production support.

• SAP TM certification is a plus.
