Senior Project Manager Renewables & Energy Position: Senior Project Manager Renewables & Energy Location: Newry Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience Contract Type: Permanent / Full-time About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager Renewables & Energy to take a leading role within our growing renewable energy and energy-efficiency division. This is a senior operational and commercial position with responsibility for managing the complete customer and project journey, from initial enquiry and technical assessment through quotation, conversion, installation and successful project completion. The successful candidate will be expected to drive lead conversion, manage the project pipeline, coordinate internal and field teams and ensure projects progress at pace. You will have oversight of Project Coordinators and work closely with surveyors, assessors, estimators, engineers, subcontractors and senior management. The role requires someone who can combine strong project-management disciplines with commercial awareness and excellent customer engagement. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of the renewable and energy-efficiency project pipeline from initial enquiry through to successful completion. Drive the conversion of qualified opportunities into confirmed projects, ensuring leads are actively progressed and followed up. Manage and support Project Coordinators, ensuring clear daily priorities and accountability. Oversee customer surveys, assessments, quotations, technical requirements, approvals and project mobilisation. Plan and coordinate surveyors, assessors, engineers, installation teams and subcontractors. Maintain visibility of every live opportunity and project, ensuring there is a clear next action, owner and target date. Review project values, costs and commercial performance to protect target margins. Identify stalled opportunities and operational bottlenecks and intervene quickly to resolve them. Maintain high standards of customer communication throughout the project lifecycle. Manage customer escalations and ensure issues are resolved professionally and promptly. Ensure appropriate project documentation, compliance records and handover information are maintained. Monitor departmental KPIs covering lead response, conversion, project progression, completion, customer satisfaction and commercial performance. Work with senior management to identify new renewable and energy-efficiency products, services and market opportunities. Support the continued development and growth of the renewables and energy division. Required Skills & Experience Significant experience in a senior project management, operations or commercial role, ideally within renewables, energy efficiency, construction, M&E or a related sector. Proven ability to manage projects from initial opportunity through to completion. Strong commercial awareness, including understanding project costs, margins and profitability. Demonstrable experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. Experience leading or supervising coordinators, administrators, field teams or subcontractors. Strong customer-facing skills, including managing senior stakeholders and difficult situations. Excellent planning, prioritisation and decision-making skills. Ability to identify problems quickly and take ownership of delivering solutions. Strong IT competency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and project/CRM systems. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, target-driven environment. Desirable Experience Experience or qualifications in any of the following would be advantageous but are not essential: Renewable energy and energy-efficiency projects Solar PV Heat pumps Building energy management and controls Energy monitoring and sensor technology Insulation and building-fabric improvement Project Management certification Health & Safety certification Construction or M&E management What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will ensure that opportunities do not sit without action, customers receive regular communication, field resources are efficiently deployed, quotations and approvals are actively progressed and confirmed projects move through delivery without unnecessary delay. You will ultimately be accountable for helping the division achieve strong conversion, controlled project delivery, customer satisfaction and profitable growth.
