A highly innovative engineering and manufacturing organisation is seeking a Procurement Category Manager to join its growing procurement function, taking ownership of a broad portfolio across HR and Marketing .
Reporting into the Category Lead, you'll play a key role in delivering strategic sourcing initiatives, partnering with senior stakeholders across HR, Marketing and wider corporate functions to drive commercial value, enhance supplier performance and support the continued development of procurement capability.
The business is looking for someone who enjoys working at pace, building strong stakeholder relationships and managing multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end procurement activity across HR and Marketing categories.
- Develop and implement category strategies that deliver value, reduce risk and support business objectives.
- Manage sourcing exercises from strategy through to contract award, including RFI, RFQ and RFP processes.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across HR, Marketing and wider business functions, acting as a trusted procurement partner.
- Lead supplier negotiations, contract management and supplier performance reviews.
- Manage spend across areas including HR services, HR technology, marketing services and other corporate categories.
- Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes, governance and supplier management.
- Provide commercial guidance and procurement support to stakeholders across multiple operational areas.
Key Requirements:
- 3–5 years' + experience within procurement, category management or commercial management.
- Experience across HR procurement, Marketing procurement , or both.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end strategic sourcing and competitive tendering processes.
- Experience managing contracts, supplier negotiations and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to build credibility across technical and business stakeholders.
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with strong commercial judgement.
