Job Description

Project Procurement Manager (Interim)
6 Month Contract | £600 per day | Inside IR35 | Hybrid | East Midlands

I'm currently working with a leading global engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Lincolnshire that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Programme Procurement Manager on an interim basis for an initial 6-month contract.

The business is experiencing significant growth, with a rapidly expanding order book and increased production demand. As a result, they're looking for an experienced procurement programme professional to provide immediate support, ensuring the procurement function is aligned to meet production requirements while identifying and mitigating any risks that could impact delivery.

This is a highly visible role where you'll work across multiple functions, suppliers and senior stakeholders to coordinate procurement activity, drive programme delivery and ensure continuity of supply.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading procurement programme activity to support increased production output.
  • Bringing together multiple workstreams across procurement, operations, engineering and supply chain.
  • Identifying bottlenecks, risks and constraints before they impact delivery.
  • Working closely with suppliers to improve continuity of supply and resolve any issues proactively.
  • Developing and implementing plans that keep procurement aligned with production schedules.
  • Providing recommendations to senior leadership on how the procurement function can be strengthened to support future growth.
  • Managing reactive issues quickly while maintaining a proactive, forward-looking approach.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has significant experience leading procurement programmes within a complex manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Is highly organised and comfortable managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Has strong project management skills and can influence across departments.
  • Can challenge existing processes, remove barriers and keep programmes moving.
  • Is commercially aware with excellent supplier management experience.

This assignment is best described as a procurement health check . The business is growing quickly and needs an experienced interim to assess the current procurement landscape, ensure the organisation is ready to support increased production, and leave behind a robust plan for continued success.
