As a Software Engineer at Arete, you will develop and implement features, as well as resolve bugs, for gimbal sensor systems.
Conduct system testing utilizing embedded processors, circuit boards, and associated test equipment. Actively participate in scrum meetings and contribute to agile development cycles. This role requires the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a small, cross-functional software and hardware team to meet critical customer deadlines. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. This position is based in our Healdsburg, CA office and is a full-time, exempt, non-supervisory role.

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- C++ and embedded development experience.
- Collaborative team experience (Scrum)
- Familiarity with Linux command line and operating system fundamentals.
- Capacity to work in a team with minimal supervision and agility to work multiple potentially disparate projects simultaneously
- RTOS environment experience
- Cross platform development.
- Knowledge of serial communication: SPI, UART, I2C.
- Knowledge of threading, synchronization, networking.
- Active security clearance.
