Web Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Web Developer with at least 2 years of experience in developing, testing and maintaining modern websites and web applications.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Front End and Back End development, database management, API integration and web application security. You will be responsible for translating business requirements into reliable, user-friendly and scalable digital solutions.

We are looking for someone who can work independently, approach technical challenges logically and deliver functional, well-structured and maintainable code.

This is primarily an on-site role at the company premises. The successful candidate must also be willing and able to travel to client locations when required to discuss requirements, provide technical support, gather information or assist with implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain responsive websites and web applications.
• Build user-friendly Front End interfaces using modern web technologies.
• Develop Back End functionality, APIs and business logic to support application requirements.
• Design, implement and maintain databases and data models.
• Implement secure user registration, authentication, access controls and role-based permissions.
• Integrate third-party services, APIs, payment gateways, email notifications and other external tools as required.
• Develop functionality for forms, file uploads, dashboards and data management.
• Ensure websites and applications are secure, reliable, accessible and optimised for performance.
• Test applications, identify bugs, troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
• Deploy applications to suitable hosting environments and manage updates and maintenance.
• Follow good coding practices, maintain version control and produce clear technical documentation.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
• Ensure applications follow relevant data protection and security requirements.

Essential Skills and Requirements

• A degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, Information Technology or a related field.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in web development or a closely related software development role.
• Good proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience developing responsive Front End interfaces using React or a similar modern JavaScript framework.
• Understanding of Back End development, including building APIs, implementing business logic and managing Server Side functionality.
• Experience implementing user authentication, authorisation and role-based access controls.
• Good understanding of relational or non-relational databases, including database design, data modelling and querying.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and external services.
• Ability to implement secure file uploads, email notifications, form processing and data management functionality.
• Understanding of web application security, secure data handling, input validation and data protection principles.
• Experience deploying, testing and maintaining websites or web applications in a live environment.
• Familiarity with Git or another version-control system.
• Good communication, organisation and time-management skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Back End frameworks or technologies such as Node.js, Express, Django, Laravel or similar.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or MongoDB.
• Familiarity with cloud hosting, deployment platforms, domain configuration, SSL certificates and environment management.
• Experience integrating payment gateways, booking systems, email services or other business software.
• Understanding of website performance optimisation, SEO fundamentals and accessibility.
• Familiarity with content management systems or website platforms such as WordPress or Squarespace.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools effectively while maintaining code quality, security and reliability.
