Senior ETL Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior ETL Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data integration and ETL solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with ETL development, data warehousing, SQL, data transformation, and enterprise data integration platforms. This role will work closely with data engineers, business analysts, database administrators, and application teams to deliver reliable and high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain complex ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
• Develop data extraction, transformation, and loading workflows from multiple source systems into data warehouses and data lakes.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable ETL solutions.
• Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and data transformations.
• Perform data profiling, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.
• Optimize ETL jobs and SQL queries for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and resolve data integration and pipeline failures.
• Implement error handling, logging, auditing, and recovery mechanisms within ETL workflows.
• Work with relational databases, cloud data platforms, APIs, flat files, and other structured and semi-structured data sources.
• Develop and maintain data mappings, technical specifications, data-flow diagrams, and ETL documentation.
• Collaborate with data architects and engineering teams to implement enterprise data warehouse solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment activities.
• Support CI/CD processes and automated deployment of ETL applications.
• Monitor production ETL workflows and ensure data pipelines meet established SLAs.
• Mentor junior ETL developers and provide technical guidance on data integration best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve data processing efficiency and automation.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in ETL/data integration development.
• Strong hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, DataStage, or equivalent.
• Advanced SQL skills and strong knowledge of relational databases.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts, including facts, dimensions, star/snowflake schemas, and slowly changing dimensions.
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT architecture and data integration patterns.
• Experience with data quality, data validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning.
• Experience working with large-volume and complex datasets.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Experience with source control tools such as Git.
• Good understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and software development best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Synapse, or similar platforms.
• Experience developing cloud-based data pipelines.
• Knowledge of Python or another scripting language.
• Experience with Apache Airflow or other workflow orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data security.
• Experience with streaming or near-real-time data integration is a plus.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
