Job Description:

The Technical Business Analyst will sit within the Technology Architecture team and support enterprise technology architecture initiatives.

The initial focus of this role will be the consolidation and transformation of data across multiple enterprise platforms, including Salesforce, SAP Commerce/Hybris, AWS-hosted databases, APIs, and downstream applications.

This individual will partner closely with Enterprise Architecture, application teams, data teams, integration teams, and business stakeholders to assess the impact of technology and data changes, document requirements and dependencies, and help ensure that changes are implemented consistently across the enterprise.

Experience with Salesforce or a similar enterprise platform is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Data Impact Analysis

• Partner with Enterprise Architecture and business stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into detailed functional and technical requirements.
• Document current-state and future-state data flows.
• Identify data-quality, reconciliation, duplication, and transformation requirements.
• Analyze how proposed data changes may affect applications and business processes.

API and Integration Analysis

• Analyze the impact of data changes on APIs, integration interfaces, and downstream applications.
• Document required changes to API payloads and interface requirements.
• Identify upstream and downstream systems affected by changes to applications, data structures, or APIs.
• Work with technical teams to ensure integration requirements and dependencies are clearly understood.

Requirements and Technical Analysis

• Facilitate discovery sessions with business stakeholders, architects, developers, data teams, application owners, and other technical teams.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical requirements.
• Develop current-state and future-state process flows.
• Create system interaction diagrams, data-flow diagrams, requirements documentation, and dependency maps.
• Help technical and business teams understand the broader impact of proposed changes across interconnected systems.

Enterprise Architecture Support

• Assist with application, integration, and data-dependency assessments.
• Identify cross-platform dependencies and potential architectural impacts.
• Prepare architecture artifacts, decision documentation, requirements, and supporting analysis for architecture reviews.
• Partner with architects and technical teams to maintain clear documentation of enterprise application and data relationships.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong experience gathering and documenting both business and technical requirements.
• Experience using Lucid or similar architecture and process-modeling tools.
• Experience analyzing data across multiple enterprise applications and databases.
• Strong understanding of data mapping, data migration, data transformation, data reconciliation, and data validation concepts.
• Experience analyzing APIs, integrations, and system-to-system interfaces.
• Ability to understand and analyze REST APIs and JSON/XML payloads.
• Ability to identify upstream and downstream impacts associated with changes to applications, APIs, or data structures.
• Experience documenting current-state and future-state processes, data flows, system interactions, and application dependencies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly within complex, interconnected technology environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to translate effectively between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Experience collaborating with architects, developers, integration teams, data teams, QA teams, project managers, application owners, and business stakeholders.
