Senior Power BI Developer

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise reporting solutions that support data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, SQL, data warehousing, and business intelligence architecture, along with experience integrating multiple data sources into scalable reporting solutions.

The successful candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, agile teams, and solution architects to deliver high-quality dashboards, reports, data models, and analytics solutions while ensuring data security, performance, and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Business Intelligence and Reporting

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and reporting portals using Power BI.

• Manage reporting catalogs by evaluating new requests, reviewing existing reports, and recommending enhancements or consolidation.

• Establish reporting standards, best practices, and reusable BI components.

• Translate business requirements into effective reporting solutions and data visualizations.

Data Integration and Warehousing

• Integrate data from multiple sources within enterprise data platforms and data warehouses.

• Develop and maintain data models, database tables, views, and reporting datasets.

• Collaborate with solution architects to align data platform design with reporting requirements.

• Ensure data quality, consistency, security, and accessibility across reporting solutions.

SQL Development and Performance Optimization

• Write, troubleshoot, and optimize complex SQL queries.

• Develop and maintain database tables, views, indexes, and data transformation processes.

• Improve Power BI report performance through data modeling, query optimization, and efficient DAX calculations.

• Leverage AWS Redshift and Microsoft SQL Server technologies to support enterprise analytics.

Project Collaboration and Support

• Collaborate with agile teams, business users, developers, and architects throughout the project lifecycle.

• Participate in requirements gathering, systems analysis, solution design, development, and integration.

• Support project scope definition, technical documentation, and project coordination.

• Conduct functional, technical, and user acceptance testing and resolve identified defects.

• Provide production support, troubleshoot reporting issues, and implement enhancements.

• Communicate technical concepts and analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in business intelligence, reporting development, and data source management.

• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, reporting architecture, administration, and security.

• Advanced proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and Power BI data modeling.

• Strong experience with SQL development, query optimization, and database performance tuning.

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server BI technologies, including SSRS and related reporting tools.

• Experience with AWS and Amazon Redshift.

• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data integration, and enterprise data architecture.

• Experience integrating multiple data sources into reporting and analytics solutions.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an agile, project-based environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with MDX and advanced analytical calculations.

• Knowledge of enterprise data governance and reporting security.

• Experience working with large datasets and complex data models.

• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and user acceptance testing.

• Experience establishing BI reporting standards and improving end-user reporting experiences.
