We are looking for an experienced civil litigation attorney who wants more than just another associate position.

• What You'll Do*

You'll work directly with the firm's leading litigator in every phase of litigation while developing increasing independence as your experience grows.
Responsibilities include:

• Managing a civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution
• Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery
• Conducting legal research and preparing written analysis
• Taking and defending depositions
• Appearing in court for hearings and trials
• Practicing in mediations and arbitrations
• Working directly with clients, experts, witnesses, and opposing counsel
• Helping develop litigation strategy
• Contributing to the continued growth of the litigation practice

You will have:

• Interesting, sophisticated, and challenging litigation work - not repetitive insurance defense work
• Direct mentorship and collaboration from the firm's lead litigator
• Immediate courtroom, deposition, mediation, and client experience
• No unnecessary bureaucracy or multiple layers of supervision
• No arbitrary billable-hour quotas-we measure success by excellent client service, high quality legal work, and teamwork

• Qualifications:*

Required

• Active license to practice law in North Carolina
• Minimum of two (2) years of civil litigation experience
• Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Strong oral advocacy and communication skills
• Ability to independently manage litigation matters
• Professionalism, initiative, level-headedness, and sound judgment
• Compensation & Benefits*
• Salary: *Starting at $90,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability, plus bonus opportunities.
