LEAD QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) with Security Clearance

Duties

• You will coordinate all oversight efforts concerning the procurement, cutting, shaping, joining and assembly of a wide variety of ferrous and non-ferrous metals utilized in accordance with both mil-spec and commercial standards.
• You will coordinate all oversight efforts concerning surface preparation, coatings preparation and application equipment and processes, and final coatings system product acceptance on behalf of the Navy.
• You will be the primary Government representative in the welding and non-destructive testing specialties, and coordinates the production and test oversight efforts.
• You will coordinate all oversight efforts concerning shipboard main propulsion engines, gears, shafts and propellers, Ship's service generators, intakes, uptakes, bleed air and all other propulsion-related systems and infrastructure.
• You will coordinate all oversight efforts concerning shipboard non-main propulsions (MP) mechanical systems and infrastructure.
• You will be responsible for coordinating and executing the SUPSHIP Bath DC team oversight of the construction, installation, activation and test of all shipboard damage control systems.
• You will coordinate all oversight efforts concerning shipboard electrical systems, including distribution, generation, bonding and grounding, machinery controls, cable routing, and all other electrical systems and infrastructure.
• You will coordinate all oversight efforts concerning weapons and weapons handling testing, load outs, bonding and grounding of combat systems equipment, sonar, navigation, radars, exterior communications and associated infrastructure.
• You will coordinate all oversight efforts concerning from trade work to compartment completion, trial cards, rollover trial cards, trial card disputes, and all other completion related efforts.
• You will collect, interpret, and analyze internal operations and shipbuilder procurement, production and quality data, and vendor's Government Source Inspection data.
• You will provide quality-engineering expertise with regards to oversight of Contractor Quality Assurance programs. Requirements Conditions of employment

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.

You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector monitoring and evaluating contractor quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications related to electrical and/or combat systems on major shipbuilding projects.
