Position: Angular developer

Location: Charlotte, NC or Jacksonville, FL or Richmond, VA

Onsite : 3 days a week onsite from day 1

Interview process: 1 and done video interview with tech lead

Contract: 6–18-month contract

Must have: angular, HTML/CSS, design experience with UX

Overview

Client  is looking for an Angular Developer with a strong blend of front-end engineering and UI design experience to help expand and modernize an enterprise Design System. This is not a traditional Angular feature-development role where developers primarily build business applications. Instead, this individual will be responsible for creating, enhancing, and maintaining reusable UI components that other application teams across the organization will consume.

The team is focused on modernizing their Angular ecosystem, upgrading from older Angular versions (currently around Angular 13) to the latest Angular framework versions. As a result, candidates should be comfortable working through Angular migrations, understanding framework changes, and modernizing component architectures. The manager emphasized the need for someone who can operate at the intersection of design and development. They want a developer who can think critically about user experience, component design, and usability, rather than simply implementing detailed specifications provided by others.

What This Person Will Be Doing

•            Design System Development

o            Build, enhance, and maintain reusable Angular UI components.

o            Contribute to a centralized design system used across multiple applications.

o            Ensure consistency in styling, accessibility, and user experience.

o            Create flexible and scalable component libraries that can be adopted enterprise-wide.

o            Examples may include:

            Buttons

            Forms

            Modals

            Navigation components

            Tables

            Layout components

            Design patterns

•            Angular Modernization

o            A significant focus will be helping modernize the Angular environment.

o            Responsibilities may include:

            Upgrading Angular applications and component libraries.

            Refactoring components to align with newer Angular standards.

            Identifying deprecated functionality and migration paths.

            Supporting Angular version upgrades from older releases to more current versions.

•            Design & User Experience Collaboration

o            The manager is looking for someone who can contribute ideas rather than simply execute requirements.

o            The ideal candidate can:

            Make design recommendations.

            Translate design concepts into reusable components.

            Improve usability and consistency.

            Partner with UX and product teams.

            Create polished user experiences.

            Candidates who have worked closely with designers tend to perform well in these environments.

•            Component Architecture

o            This role involves designing components that can be easily reused across multiple applications.

o            Strong candidates should understand:

            Component-driven architecture

            UI consistency

            Reusability

            Scalability

Must-Have Skills:

•            Angular Development

o            Strong Angular development experience
