Role Overview
This position provides high-level technical leadership and architectural expertise to the enterprise systems team. Operating as a principal individual contributor, you will oversee platform architecture, lead complex integration projects, maintain code quality standards, and mentor mid-level engineering staff. This position focuses purely on technical excellence and platform strategy, working alongside operational IT management to expand the companies ERP capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Governance: Serve as the final technical authority for all ERP customisations and ecosystem integrations, defining coding standards, architectural guidelines, and deployment workflows.
• Complex Scripting & Development: Lead the implementation of high-throughput custom backend logic, performance-critical web services, and advanced event-driven automations; act as the primary escalation point for severe technical blockers.
• Integration Strategy: Design and manage end-to-end data flow architectures, including automated retry mechanisms, error handling protocols, monitoring systems, and API lifecycle management.
• DevOps & Platform Engineering: Modernise deployment practices using modern CI/CD pipelines, version control frameworks, environment management strategy, and system resource optimisation.
• Team Mentoring: Level up internal development talent through direct code reviews, pair programming, technical coaching, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Strategic Roadmap Collaboration: Partner with IT leadership to address technical debt, refine platform roadmaps, and architect upcoming expansions into manufacturing operations.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Translate complex operational requirements into scalable technical designs and detailed architectural specifications.
• Tier-3 Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and incident resolution for critical platform disruptions.

Required Qualifications
Tier 1 (Preferred Direct Experience):

• Extensive, production-proven background developing complex scripts and custom extensions within a major mid-market ERP ecosystem (4+ years preferred).
• Expert-level proficiency with modern iPaaS solutions (e.g., Celigo) for enterprise-scale data transformations, error management, and flow orchestration.
• Proven track record in an architectural role overseeing platform design rather than executing build-to-spec tasks.
• Mastery of core ERP relational data models, governance limits, custom record design, and query optimisation.
• Prior experience acting as a lead or principal developer, responsible for technical reviews and team upskilling.

Tier 2 (Alternative Technical Backgrounds):

• Enterprise iPaaS specialization (Celigo, Boomi, MuleSoft, or Workato) combined with a strong JavaScript/TypeScript background and willingness to deepen core ERP platform knowledge.
• Senior development or architecture experience on alternative mid-market ERPs (e.g., Dynamics 365, Sage Intacct) combined with strong modern web development skills.
