Job Description

Exclusive opening with our client for an Agentic AI Developer to support the client's growing AI and digital transformation initiatives focused on Microsoft Copilot, Generative AI, Agentic AI, workflow automation, and enterprise AI solutions.
Does not require sponsorship now or in future
Location: Quonset Point, North Kingstown, RI (Hybrid, preference for 3 days onsite)
Duration: 6 months contract-to-hire
Start: ASAP to Mid-October
This is not a traditional software developer role and not a generic AI enthusiast profile.
The team is specifically looking for candidates with hands-on experience developing AI-powered applications, copilots, AI agents, and workflow automation solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience building solutions using Microsoft Copilot technologies, Generative AI platforms, LLMs, Agentic AI frameworks, and Python.
Candidates should be able to discuss AI solutions they have personally developed, including how they leveraged LLMs, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI orchestration, autonomous workflows, or multi-step agent interactions to solve business problems.
What We're Looking For
This individual will work directly with engineering, manufacturing, IT, and business stakeholders to identify real-world opportunities to leverage AI for improved productivity, knowledge management, workflow automation, decision support, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate is someone who can take an AI use case from concept through deployment, including solution design, development, testing, integration, monitoring, and continuous improvement. Strong communication skills are critical, as this person will regularly engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Must-Have Skills

Hands-on experience developing AI applications using Microsoft Copilot, Generative AI, or enterprise AI platforms
Strong Python development experience
Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs)
Experience building AI-powered assistants, copilots, automation solutions, or intelligent workflows
Experience integrating AI solutions with APIs, enterprise systems, databases, and Microsoft technologies
Prompt engineering and AI solution design experience
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working onsite at Quonset Point and interacting with both office and operational teams

Highly Preferred

Agentic AI development experience
AI agents, autonomous workflows, orchestration frameworks, or multi-agent systems
Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
Microsoft AI technologies and Copilot ecosystem experience
Codex CLI or other AI-assisted development tools
Experience supporting enterprise-scale AI implementations
Manufacturing, engineering, defense, shipyard operations, QA, pharmaceutical, public health, or other regulated environments.
