Job description

We are seeking a lead technical professional to drive enterprise-scale Master Data Management and data streaming solutions.
 

Key Position Details

  • Role: Senior IBM Master Data Management (MDM) & Integration Developer
  • Location: Lansing, MI
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Mondays & Tuesdays required on-site in Lansing, MI; non-negotiable)
  • Interview Process: Virtual (1–2 rounds; local candidates may require on-site for Round 2; camera/screen-share required)

Must-Have Core Skills

  • IBM MDM Expertise: 8+ years of enterprise software development with strong, hands-on experience in IBM InfoSphere MDM v14.x Standard Edition (Virtual MDM)—including data models, entities, transactions, batch processing, customization, and troubleshooting.
  • Data Streaming & Messaging: Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (topic configuration, producer/consumer development, message flow troubleshooting, Zookeeper/KRaft, Strimzi operator).
  • Core Development: 8+ years in Java / J2EE, REST & SOAP web services, JSP, and production troubleshooting.
  • Operating Systems & Scripting: 5+ years with Linux/Unix command-line, log analysis, system troubleshooting, and Bash/PowerShell shell scripting.
  • Database Proficiency: Strong SQL writing and query optimization skills in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

Preferred & Bonus Skills

  • Application Servers: Experience with WildFly / JBoss deployment, configuration, and runtime troubleshooting.
  • Cloud & Containers: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, OpenShift (OCP), Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
  • Monitoring & Workflow: ELK / Elastic Stack for cross-system log correlation; experience with Flowable workflow development.
  • Domain: Healthcare sector experience is a strong plus.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead ongoing enhancement, integration, and operational support for enterprise Master Person Index systems.
  • Design, build, and maintain real-time and batch integration pipelines connecting core database architectures via Kafka and WildFly.
  • Write functional/technical specifications, SQL scripts, automated Bash/CRON jobs, and system test plans across SDLC stages.
  • Collaborate with database, server, network, and security teams for system upgrades, certificates, and infrastructure deployment.
