Job Description

Analytics Engineer - Contract
Day Rate: 400 - 550 per day
Location: London Remote

Data Idols are working with a growing, product-led technology business that is continuing to invest in its data and analytics capabilities. They are looking for an experienced Analytics Engineer to join on a contract basis, helping to develop and scale the data models and infrastructure that underpin analytics and business decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a modern cloud-based data environment, taking ownership of data modelling and transformation while helping to improve how data is structured, accessed and used across the organisation.

The Opportunity

As an Analytics Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building and maintaining scalable data models using dbt and SQL, transforming complex raw data into reliable, well-structured datasets that support analytics and reporting.

Working closely with Data Engineers, Analysts and wider business teams, you'll help develop and optimise the data modelling layer, improve data quality and establish reusable, consistent data structures. You'll also contribute to the development of a modern cloud data warehouse, ensuring data is accessible, trustworthy and ready to support a growing range of analytical use cases.

Skills and Experience
  • Strong experience in Analytics Engineering, with a focus on data modelling and transformation
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, building, testing and maintaining scalable data models
  • Advanced SQL skills, with experience writing and optimising complex queries
  • Experience working with modern cloud data warehouses, ideally BigQuery/GCP
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modelling and ELT processes

If you're an experienced Analytics Engineer looking for your next contract opportunity, where you can take ownership of data modelling and work with modern technologies, we'd love to hear from you!
