IT Business Analyst

Genesis10 is currently seeking an IT Business Analyst for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role is focused on improving backlog management, sprint planning, and prioritization across multiple workstreams. The ideal candidate will enhance requirement gathering, documentation, and stakeholder communication to drive Agile/Scrum best practices and support dependency management across various technical teams, including ETL, Reporting, and Data Architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Improve backlog management, sprint planning, and prioritization across multiple workstreams
• Enhance requirement gathering, documentation, and stakeholder communication, reducing rework and delivery delays
• Drive Agile/Scrum best practices, ensuring consistent execution, tracking, and reporting of sprint commitments
• Support dependency management and coordination across ETL, Reporting, Data Architecture, and downstream application teams
• Improve visibility of project risks, impediments, and delivery milestones through effective governance and reporting
• Strengthen production change management, release planning, and operational readiness processes

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies
• Experience facilitating sprint ceremonies and backlog management
• Ability to identify and remove delivery blockers
• Strong sprint planning, estimation, and tracking skills
• Experience with requirements gathering and stakeholder interviewing
• Skilled in writing user stories and acceptance criteria
• Experience with process mapping and workflow analysis
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
• Experience with risk, dependency, and issue management
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and project delivery management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to work with business, technology, and leadership teams
• Experience with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
• Strong ownership, accountability, and a proactive, delivery-focused mindset
• Problem-solving and continuous improvement orientation
• Knowledge of SQL

Desired skills:

• Understanding of ETL and data integration processes
• Knowledge of SQL Server and database concepts
• Experience with reporting platforms and downstream data feeds
• Familiarity with production support, release management, and change governance

Pay range: $49.94 - $57.94 per hour
