Job Summary

About Venue Nation: Venue Nation Australia is a dedicated division within Live Nation Australasia, established to provide strategic leadership, drive innovation, and foster growth across the venue portfolio. The department focuses on delivering effective and efficient management of LNA's diverse venues, ensuring they remain competitive and relevant in the dynamic live entertainment market.

About the role

Are you a relationship driven bookings professional with sharp commercial instinct and a genuine love for live music? Venue Nation Australia, part of Live Nation Australasia, is looking for a Senior Bookings Manager to take the reins on the booking calendars for two of Brisbane's most loved venues, Fortitude Music Hall and The Triffid.

In this role, you'll manage the day to day booking diary across both venues, lead the development of venue produced events, and build the kind of relationships with promoters and agents that keep shows coming through the door. You'll also mentor the Booking Manager at The Triffid, working closely with the Bookings & Programming Director to grow show count, strengthen client engagement, and keep the venues performing at their best. This role does require flexibility outside standard hours to match the pace of the live events industry.

What you'll be doing
  • Booking calendar management: manage the booking diary for Fortitude Music Hall and The Triffid, keeping it accurate, up to date, and aligned with venue booking policy.
  • Venue event development: lead the development and delivery of venue produced events, balancing organisational goals with calendar availability and audience appeal.
  • Relationship building and new business: build strong relationships with promoters, agents and clients to grow show count, while proactively identifying new business opportunities.
  • Negotiation and contract management: work with the Bookings & Programming Director to negotiate event terms outside standard hire agreements.
  • Event settlement: oversee event settlement with the Venue Manager and Finance Business Manager, ensuring processes align with contractual obligations.
  • Reporting: prepare weekly and monthly reports covering bookings, sales, pricing, attendance and industry trends.
  • People leadership: support and develop the Booking Manager at The Triffid through regular coaching and feedback.
What you'll bring
  • Industry experience: 5+ years in live events, venue booking or event programming, ideally within a similar venue or entertainment environment.
  • Relationship management: track record of building lasting relationships with promoters, agents and clients.
  • Negotiation skills: confidence negotiating contracts, artist fees and event specific terms.
  • Organisation and time management: strong ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines within a busy booking calendar.
  • Strategic thinking: proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Communication: excellent verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Tech proficiency: familiarity with venue management software such as VenueElite or Momentus, plus solid Microsoft Office skills.
  • Adaptability: comfortable working in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities and demands.
Benefits
  • A vibrant, music focused workplace fostering creativity and collaboration.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
  • A flexible approach to when and where you work, designed to support balance in all aspects of life.
  • Access to concerts, events and other entertainment perks.
  • A diverse, equitable workplace where every voice matters.
  • Comprehensive benefits, from volunteer days to wellness programmes and mental health support.
