Bankruptcy Attorney (Debtor Litigation), Partner or Senior Associate

About the Role

Join an established bankruptcy and commercial litigation practice as a debtor-side bankruptcy litigator. You will lead complex disputes and help steward client relationships and active matters as part of a long-term practice succession.

What You'll Do

• Lead debtor-side bankruptcy litigation, including adversary proceedings, contested matters, and related disputes.

• Manage litigation from case strategy through courtroom advocacy and resolution.

• Appear in bankruptcy court and represent debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 proceedings.

• Work collaboratively with bankruptcy colleagues and the broader commercial litigation team.

• Develop and maintain client relationships, including supporting the transition of existing clients and matters.

• Contribute to business development and the practice's long-term leadership.

What We're Looking For

• 8 to 15 years of relevant experience, including substantial debtor-side bankruptcy litigation experience.

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active admission to the New York Bar.

• Strong command of the Bankruptcy Code and Rules, with experience handling adversary proceedings, contested matters, hearings, and court appearances.

• Proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, ECF, and Microsoft Office.

• Ability to manage a practice independently, work collaboratively, and build lasting client relationships.

• Experience with client succession, business development, or portable bankruptcy work is valued.

• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $275,000 to $400,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
